Turbidimeter

TURBIDIMETER project launch

We are delighted to tell about our new project, an open source turbidimeter for water quality measurements.

Open source: we will share all our design data for anyone to be used in their own projects.

Turbidimeter: instrument that measures scattering of light to quantify the amount of small particles in liquid. In some versions also absorption effect is measured.

Key design features:

  • First version will be based on Arduino or Raspberry Pi platform. Later a custom micro-controller board maybe justified.
  • This model will use a small glass container for sample liquid. So it will not work continuously or submerged.
  • The instrument will reliably measure turbidity levels way below 1 NTU units. This level of turbidity is considered as maximum for water to be used in households and it looks crystal clear.

At the moment (July – August 2022) we are collecting ideas and material for the actual design. If you wish to share your thoughts you are welcome to do so.
